History
Crane History Ltd., was founded by the O Leary family in 1967.
During the early years the company was run as a small family concern with Tom and his brother Dermot operating the cranes, while Tom's wife, Margaret managed the administration and financial side of the business. Since that time we have grown steadily to become Ireland's leading CRANE HIRE company.
This has been achieved by a policy of continuous investment and by anticipating industries requirements for ever larger and more modern equipment.
We have led the way in the area of heavy lifting since 1977 and continue to do so to this day.
This was achieved by the purchase of a 100 ton Liebherr Lt1100, the largest crane of its type in Ireland.
Then in 1981 we purchased a 200 ton Gattwald AMK 200/103, at its time the largest telescopic crane in the world.
This clearly established us as Ireland's and one of Europe's leading companies in the area of heavy cranes. This was reinforced in 1992 with the purchase of a 300 ton Demag HC 920.
At the end of 1992 we suffered a terrible loss with the death of our managing director Tom O Leary, However we have continued on, in his spirit, with massive investment in new machinery of all sizes and in 1999 we bought a 500 ton Demag AC 1600.
Crane Hire Ltd has & still does lead the crane hire industry in Ireland and we look forward to working with all our customers in the future.
